Run for a Child 2009

Robin drove to NWA to run this race with us. She did awesome in her first 5K (in a long time!)
Jake and I started training earlier this summer for the 10K. We had never done something like this together and I had not been in shape in a long time!

Very sweaty finishers! We both finished 7th in our age divisions. Jake was giving some public smack-talk the day before about which Van Lear would be the fastest. Well, I only finished one minute after him so he better train harder next time to assure his victory!

Pre-Halloween

I shopped for Halloween costumes at a children's consignment sale this year. Aidan is going to be a green monster. We are working on him with his mean looks...he doesn't really know what to do! Zachary cried and cried when he saw Aidan. We had to convince him that it was his brother in there! It could make for an interesting Halloween!

"Go Tiny Ti-ans!"

I wish you could hear how Aidan cheers for his soccer team, the Tiny Titans. It is so cute! We had our first game on Saturday and had a blast! Aidan did really well for the most part. For some reason, occasionally he would make a parameter lap around the soccer field with a huge smile on his face. I think it was a show for the large audience. Unfortunately, this was during the game. He had fun, scored some goals (not all in our goal), and can't wait to do it again-for the next nine weeks or so!

So yesterday I was talking to Aidan is this is what happened...
Aidan says, "Mommy, do you remember a long, long time ago when I was little and Zachary was still in your tummy and I was NOT on a soccer team?!"
Like we have been playing soccer our whole lives! Aidan is thrilled about the up and coming soccer team!

Sprinklers!

Right outside the Tulsa Zoo there is a public sprinkler park. The kids had a blast! It took a few minutes for Rachel (my niece) and Zachary to warm up but after that they couldn't get enough!

This was a sprinkler that dumped water out of buckets. It took more times than it should have to actually get dumped on. It kept missing Aidan and wasn't going to leave until it got him!

Tulsa Zoo and Amy's birthday

For Amy and Robin's birthday this year we met at the Tulsa Zoo. After surviving the tornado warnings we had a great time!The birthday girls picking the nose of the zoo decor!
